Soren Kjeldsen and Viktor Hovland en tête à Wentworth

After a Friday day canceled due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, play resumed this Saturday at the PGA Championship in Wentworth. In a tournament reduced to 54 holes, there are two men in the lead. If Soren Kjeldsen had started his day with a bogey, the Dane made up for it by signing an eagle and seven birdies on the Wentworth Club course. The quadruple winner on the DP World Tour returns a card of 64 (-8) and settles at the head of the tournament.

« I know I’m not the longest player on the circuit. So, if I want to compete I have to be very solid on the face-offs and find the fairways. This is the key. The rough is very wet and it quickly becomes very complicated. Afterwards, if you only focus on your misses, you will have a difficult day. I try to be as positive as possible. »

The 47-year-old shares the lead with Viktor Hovland. After a card of 64 (-8) returned on the first day, the Norwegian was satisfied with a 68 (-4). The 24-year-old is looking for a 3rd title on the DP World Tour. The two men are ahead of Thomas Detry, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Rory McIlroy by one stroke.

(-10) The best card of the day is signed by Min Woo Lee. A performance allowing the New Zealander to move up to 31st place.

And the French?

To find the first French, you have to go down to 28th place with Romain Langasque and Antoine Rozner. Behind, Matthieu Pavon and Julien Brun are 34th (-6), while Victor Perez and Fred Lacroix are in 58th place (-4).
