Barbizon is known for its painters and its many galleries, but the municipality and several associations would also like to give a sporting imprint to the village of painters. The first edition of a pedestrian trail is proposed, Sunday, October 2, in the “village of painters” with the aim of making it an unmissable date in the fall.
Everyone at their own pace
“During a discussion between former Barbizonians and new residents, we were thinking about how to create a link,” recalls Jean-Sebastien Bouillot, deputy mayor in charge of sports. The idea of a trail then germinates. But be careful, he warns. Not in an ultra-competitive mode: everyone does it at their own pace. What we want to create is a link between the inhabitants, whether it’s a big sports festival. »
So they rolled up their sleeves and started working on the project. Route, security, bibs: no detail is left to chance. Not even the cups and medals which are made respecting aesthetics and art, symbols of the village. The social link is already created since associations such as the judo club and the friendly Barbizon have already responded.
Three events per age category
The trail will be divided into three events, starting from the town hall. At 9 a.m., the 7-11 year olds will set off for a 900m course, then will come the turn of the 12-15 year olds with an 1,800m circuit. The queen event will follow, the 11.5 kilometers with 250 meters of elevation gain. “It will be an opportunity to go through remarkable places, like the boar pond, the GR or the Denecourt route, list Jean-Sébastien Bouillot.
Each participant will make his journey according to his abilities. If the first edition has not yet taken place, the organizers already want to make it a major annual meeting between sport, friendship and discovery.
