RSCA Futures Haven’t Lost Yet in 1B – Football News

There was a lot of criticism about the entry of the U23 teams in the Challenger Pro League. But in the meantime, those young foals are doing well in the professional competition. RSCA Futures in particular has not missed its start. They have already surprised more than one opponent with typical Anderlecht football.

The young guests of coach Robin Veldman are the only team in the – what we will call 1B for the sake of convenience – series. And that included the great title candidates Lierse Kempenzonen and Lommel SK. They won against those two teams. The other four games ended in a draw.

Not coincidentally, because if there is room because the other team also wants to play football, they are at their best. David Hubert leads a talented defense with top talent Ethan Butera by his side. With Masscho, Leoni and Lissens, there were still three young people in their twenties on the field on Friday, the rest are still in their teens. 17-year-old Lucas Stassin scored a hat-trick…

“They have to become more man”, Felice Mazzu said after the defeat against Westerlo about his Neerpede talents. At Lierse Kempenzonen they had a different opinion about this. “We let ourselves be put away in the duels by a guy of 17”, sighed coach Tom Van Imschoot after the match. So they can fight too.

That may also be a compliment to trainer Veldman. Last week, Stassin was very unhappy in his actions against Club NXT. He had several chances to win them there too and was almost inconsolable after the match. Veldman immediately took him to give him fatherly advice and a hug. In terms of people management it is good.

In midfield, Theo Leoni is perhaps the most underestimated Anderlecht player. The 22-year-old left leg is captain and recuperates and divides. In 1B they are having a hard time with the versatile midfielder who has been with the club for ten years. Moussa Ndiaye, who was taken over from Barcelona – was hurt last weekend – could also become a sensation.

Support

What could be even better… The interest of the fans. It is really worth watching, but for now the Futures only attract about 400 spectators in home games. In an immense King Baudouin stadium, that is just a speck. The supporters are always happy when a Neerpede product enters the first team. But now they have the chance to see them at work before that.
