Piazza Alberti descends into the atmosphere of the 1300s with Medieval Mantua

MANTUA – A time machine will take Piazza Alberti back over six centuries for two days and transform it into a real market of the end of the fourteenth century. Here under the watchful eye of the Gonzaga guards, there will in fact be the tailor, the weaver, the dyer, the wool merchant, the apothecary, the goldsmith, the calligrapher, the coin maker and then again the pilgrims, the armigers and many craftsmen.
It will happen next Saturday and Sunday with the eighteenth edition of medieval Mantua, presented this morning in the Municipality by the councilor Serena Pedrazzoli and by the heads of the Medieval Mantua Association – La Compagnia della Rosa ad 1403 Asd.

About a hundred will be reenactors from all over Italy that will make the public live an authentic medieval experience thanks to conferences, educational workshops and traveling shows with the sympathetic people Milfo Lo Buffon Jester and Leo Gobbo his companion.

For more than twenty years the members of the Association have been aiming at the reconstruction, historically accurate to carry out all-round culture. From material culture to the research of the written and pictorial source, so as to disseminate to the public a vision of the time that goes from 1380 to 1410 in a correct way and without false historical myths.
The event, which sees the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Mantua and the patronage of the Council of the Lombardy Region, is very much felt in the Virgilian capital: just think that last year, when there were anti- Covid, 1,500 attendees were registered.

For the children during the two days there will be painting and fencing workshops
