Persela Lamongan has officially fired Fakhri Husaini. He stepped down from the coach’s seat after Laskar Joko Tingkir performed poorly at the beginning of Liga 2 2022.
Persela Lamongan announced that it had ended its collaboration with Fakhri through the club’s official account. This was also confirmed by Persela’s media officer, Abdul Wakhid.
Wakhid also revealed that Charis Yulianto, who was previously an assistant coach, would temporarily lead Persela. It will be caretaker until Persela appointed a new head coach.
“It’s true, Persela and Coach Fakhri have agreed to end their collaboration early,” said Wakhid as quoted from detikJatim.
“Caretaker coach will be held by the assistant coach, Charis Yulianto,” he explained.

Persela kicked the former coach of the Indonesian U-19 national team after Zulham Zamrun et al lost to PSIM Yogyakarta 0-1. These results put Persela in the relegation zone.
Persela is in ninth position in the 2022 Liga 2 Central Group. They have only collected five points from six matches with only one win.
The incision is clearly far from expectations. Given, Persela has several players who have experience in the highest caste. They were reinforced by Zulham Zamrun, Ngurah Nanak, Marinus Wanewar, and Jordan Zamorano.
Persela themselves have played in Liga 2 this season after being relegated from Liga 1. They finished 17th in Liga 1.
