OFFICIAL: Mauro Icardi On Loan To Galatasaray From Paris Saint-Germain

WHAT HAPPENED? Icardi was linked with a move to the Turkish giants for several weeks and a deal between the club and the player was finally agreed. He will join a star-studded team already featuring Lucas Torreira, Dries Mertens and, soon, Juan Mata.

BIGGER IMAGE: The Argentine originally joined PSG in 2019 and has scored 38 goals in 92 appearances for the club, as well as registering 10 assists. However, Icardi did not get a regular place at starting XI at the Parc des Princes amid competition from the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, and he will be looking to rediscover his best form at Galatasaray.

AND WHAT ELSE: Icardi is eager to help Galatasaray return to the top of the Super Lig. They ended last season in a somewhat surprising 13th position as Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce took the lead at the top.
