No World Cup for Paul Pogba? Frenchman now opts for surgery on his knee | Serie A

Paul Pogba (29) returned to the old nest this summer, but he has not yet been able to spread his wings in Turin.

Pogba came over on a free transfer from Manchester United, but suffered a serious knee injury almost immediately in July.

The Frenchman was faced with a dilemma: opt for a rehabilitation period without surgery and thus not mortgage his World Cup or immediately opt for an intervention with a long recovery period and therefore more than likely no World Cup.

The first track was his preference, but Juventus now confirm that Pogba is going under the knife after all. He had only just resumed training.

“If we are realistic, he will not return until January,” said Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri about the meniscus patient.

One of the French stars is in danger of missing the World Cup. “That’s not my problem,” Allegri replied shortly. “It is Juventus’ concern that he is back in January.”
