MotoGP confirms a race in Kazakhstan from next year

Kazakhstan will be part of the motorcycle championship calendar from 2023, in a new agreement where the paddock will visit the Sokol International Racetrack for the next five seasons, as confirmed by the MotoGP organization on Tuesday.

Located on the outskirts of Almaty -the largest city in Kazakhstan-, Sokol is a brand new automobile complex built in the heart of Asia Central. The region will be a new ‘pit stop’ for MotoGP as the sport continues to expand around the world, encompassing new markets and fan bases.

In this way, Kazakhstan will become the 30th country to host a motorcycle Grand Prix since 1949while the Sokol International Racetrack will be the 74th venue to host a premier class Grand Prix.
