The 29-year-old Spaniard has not raced in MotoGP since June when he underwent surgery in the US on his right hand, which was broken in a crash in July 2020. Despite the fact that the fracture was healed, it prevented a full competition.

“He has completed two days of testing at the Misano circuit and continued intensive training at home. Marquez and the Honda team have decided that the athlete will return to racing at the Aragon Grand Prix,” the team said in a statement.

Marquez played his last race at the end of May, winning the tenth place in the Italian Grand Prix.

Fabio Quartararo from France (“Monster Energy Yamaha”) is the leader of the World Championship with 211 points, while Marquez is in 15th position with 60 points.

This season, the calendar has 20 stages.
