Jupiler Pro LeagueThe euphoria has largely subsided, Club Brugge faces the following task in Liège, which should not be underestimated: “I will absolutely not be cheering there either,” Carl Hoefkens thought that there was too much fuss after his way of ‘celebrating’ in Porto.

Just like last weekend, Club Brugge is going to Liège, although on paper a tougher chunk awaits them there than last Saturday: “I didn’t know we couldn’t win seven matches there,” Hoefkens fell from the sky. “But I’m not concerned with those kinds of statistics. That is another challenge for my group. Against a team that took nine out of nine, in a stadium where there is often a good atmosphere. However, I am not afraid that my players have not turned the switch after the victory in Porto.”
That victory in Porto was modestly celebrated by Hoefkens, who drew attention to himself with his stoic reactions after the four goals: “Or I will cheer on Sunday? Absolutely not. There has been too much fuss around. I’ve been doing this all season, and then nothing was said or written about it. After that 0-4 it is even more noticeable, but I have never done it differently.”
Hoefkens has not yet recovered any injured players, but he did see Mata, Buchanan and Lang resume individual training on the field. The trio is expected to be fully fit after the international break. (TTV)
