“It was terrifying”: should riders fear further bird attacks at World Cycling Championships

The weather forecast around the city of Wollongong is not particularly worrying for Sunday. But when the men’s road race peloton, the flagship event of this gathering of the World Cycling Championships, hits the roads in this corner of south-eastern Australia, it is not impossible that some of its members will throw occasionally an eye to the sky. Since their arrival in Oceania, the runners have had to deal with an unexpected parameter: the birds.
