In this regard, Lin Jialong, a candidate for mayor of New Taipei City from the Democratic Progressive Party, said in an interview on the morning of the 21st that Hou Youyi has served his third term as deputy mayor, and New Taipei is still regressing because of powerlessness and distraction. There is no new construction, and the mouth says to do things well, but the heart is in the 2024 presidential election.
On the morning of the 21st, Lin Jialong, accompanied by legislator Wu Bingrui and others, went to Xinzhuang Jizo Nunnery, Ciyou Palace, Wusheng Temple, and Quan’an Palace to pay homage and accept media interviews.
In the past three years, Hou Youyi’s policy investigation has dropped seven places, among which the economy, culture and education, and competitiveness are the last in the six capitals. Lin Jialong said that from this, we can see that New Taipei City is regressing. New Taipei City’s urban competitiveness is the tail end of the six capitals. Hou Youyi’s personal satisfaction with governance has also declined for three consecutive years. Lin Jialong said that New Taipei City’s 12-year budget has doubled, but it is still going backwards, because Hou Youyi is “powerless” and “distracted”. The powerlessness is that Hou Youyi has been in power for 12 years and the successor is powerless. After that, there will be no new major constructions; Wuxin is that although Hou Youyi said that he will do things well, but his heart is set on 2024, and the municipal administration will naturally be idle.
In this regard, Hou Youyi responded in a joint interview with the media before the New Taipei City Council attended the municipal general inquiry. It is normal for the polls to be high and low. When the polls are high, we must continue to be vigilant and do better; when the polls are low, we should work harder.
In addition, the election campaign will be voted in two months. Lin Jialong said that the DPP is very united, and members and candidates can support each other, while Hou Youyi cannot penetrate the whole country, which is also reflected in the final poll.
