The Bucks star spoke on media day telling the difference between the two worlds of basketball.
The various media days of the NBA teams have begun in preparation for the season, yesterday the Milwaukee Bucks one with the spotlight clearly focused on Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek, fresh from the bitter elimination in the quarter-finals of EuroBasket 2022 at the hands of Germany, was asked to talk about the difference between the FIBA world basketball (Europe) and the NBA one.
Giannis also echoed the words of Luka Doncic said last year: “The European game is tougher than the NBA. Talent in the NBA is obviously higher. I think it’s more intense down there. People pick you up across the board, lanes close and it’s so much more physical. I don’t know if they are more physical because you are less talented. For a guy like me who came out of nowhere, I think the NBA spoiled me a bit. When you go abroad things are not the same … Here things are easy, it doesn’t weigh on you. We are more than blessed”

In ESPN’s Top 100 on the upcoming NBA season Giannis was voted No. 1 as reigning NBA champion Stephen Curry also off the podium at number 5. Antetokounmpo, however, has no doubts: “Do I think I’m the best player in the world? No. Whoever won the MVP title last is. Two years ago, yes. But in my opinion the best player in the world is Steph Curry until there is another player in his place”.
