Chess: ESV Rot-Weiss Göttingen successful at district blitz day
Göttingen. The chess players of the ESV Rot-Weiß Göttingen successfully took part in the district blitz day in Bad Salzdetfurth. ESV player Johannes Karthäuser surprisingly won the individual competition, but confidently.

In blitz chess, each player has five minutes to think about the entire game. In the finals he won nine games and drew two more times. The Göttinger Michael Niggl as the best player with a DWZ (German rating number) under 1800 and Moritz Grönemeyer as the best player with a DWZ under 1500 won rating prizes.

In the competition of four teams, the ESV provided two teams. The first team not only won the derby against Tempo Göttingen, but also achieved third place. The second team finished seventh at the tournament in Bad Salzdetfurth.
