End of the vaccination obligation in Canada

Canada is preparing to lift the vaccination requirement for anyone entering its soil at the end of September reports EPSN.

So far, anyone wishing to enter Canada must have had their two doses of vaccines at least 14 days before arriving. This vaccination obligation should be lifted and would be awaiting formalization by Prime Minister Justin Tudreau.

For sports leagues, it will also mark the end of uncertainty regarding some of their unvaccinated players.

In baseball, unvaccinated players weren’t paid when they were placed on the shortlist during trips to Toronto to play the Blue Jays. A few weeks before the start of the playoffs, it’s a relief for the players who will have to face the Blue Jays.

In the NBA, the obligation renewed last month will therefore no longer be effective and Kyrie Irvingfor example, will therefore be able to travel to Toronto to face the Raptors.

In the NHL, this hardly changes anything since almost all the players were vaccinated.
