Dornbirn’s baseball players open the door to the final wide.

Dornbirn. The Dornbirn Indians got off to a brilliant start in the Bundesliga semi-finals last weekend and were 2-0 in the best-of-five series. The Diving Ducks, on the other hand, did not have a good day. While the Indians were relatively easy to score throughout the day, the Ducks struggled.

In the first inning, the teams met evenly and scored two runs each. After that, Indians pitcher Ryan Rupp got better control of the Ducks offense, while the offense was able to score continuously. Game coach Graeham Luttor and Kruno Gojkovic knew how to convince on offense. Relief pitcher Maximilian Luger also put in a strong performance, keeping his team in the game after Rupp was substituted early on. In the end, the Dornbirners were able to celebrate a deserved 10:6 victory in the first game.

It became clearer in the second game. There, Indians pitcher Shotaro Usui drove the reigning champions to despair and only allowed two runs in total. After the Dornbirner Offense kept scoring – Kruno Gojkovic again scored the most of all Indians players with three runs – Chris Squires acted as a sovereign closer and brought the 2:0 series lead with a 12:2 win.
