Crushing victory for the Rouge et Or

The Rouge et Or of Laval University made short work of the Concordia Stingers by winning 60 to 14, Sunday afternoon, in Quebec.

Head coach Glen Constantin’s team notably scored 35 points during the second quarter. During this one, quarterback Arnaud Desjardins threw three of his five touchdown passes, in addition to crossing the goal line once with the ball in hand. The Rouge et Or also got two safety touchdowns during the second 15 minutes.

Desjardins finished his matchup with 25 passes on 29 attempts for 364 yards. His favorite target was Kevin Mital, who had 187 yards and three majors on 10 catches.

Defensively among the winners, linebacker Charles-Alexandre Jacques amassed five tackles. His teammates Vincent Delisle and Arnaud Laporte made interceptions at the expense of Olivier Roy.

On the Stingers side, wide receiver Jeremy Murphy went for 100 yards on three catches.

The Rouge et Or (3-1) will be in action again next Sunday, while the McGill Redbirds (0-4) will be at Stade TELUS-Université Laval. The Stingers (1-3) will receive a visit from the Vert & Or of Sherbrooke University (2-2) on Saturday.
