Champions League: Tedesco after RB embarrassment before the end – presented by Donetsk | Sports

That could be the Tedes-Ko!

Three days after the 0: 4 swatter in Frankfurt, RB Leipzig also made a fool of themselves in the Champions League, conceding a 1: 4 home defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk. Cup winner coach Domenico Tedesco (36) is about to end after the false start of the season.

The coach at DAZN: “It’s difficult to find the right words. It’s amazing! The boys wanted.”

Tedesco tries everything against Donetsk. He brings together the offensive trio of Timo Werner (26), André Silva (26) and Cristopher Nkunku (24) for the first time, switches to a back four in defense and gives Xaver Schlager (24) and last-minute loan player Abdou Diallo ( 26) their first starting XI chance. But nothing helps.

Leipzig takes care of the bitterly cold shower after a quarter of an hour. Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi (32) accepts a Schlager back pass about 30 meters from the goal. The Hungarian fakes on the right, fakes on the left – and then loses the ball completely unnecessarily to Shved, who only has to push into the empty goal. A giant buck from wishy-washy gulacsi!

Leipzig’s reaction? Completely absent. No more shots on goal for the guests until half-time. After half an hour, the first whistles can be heard from the stands, followed by a loud concert of whistles during the break.

At the first real opportunity to equalize, RB strikes. Szoboszlai plays Simakan free on the right, the defender coolly converts – the 1: 1 (57th).

But then the lightning shock! Only 80 seconds later the Ukrainians lead again. Orban deflects a Shved shot untenable to 1: 2. Tedesco: “We make it 1-1 and their second shot on goal flies straight back in. It’s brutal, it’s really brutal.”

For goalscorer Maryan Shved (25), on the other hand, it is a dream debut: He returned to Ukraine from Mechelen (Belgium) only five days earlier. Now the Champions League debut and his brace debut.

Mudryk (76th) and Traoré (85th) seal the RB debacle with their goals – and the Tedesco separation?

The coach when asked if he expects to have to go: “I don’t think about that at all. I’m disappointed after the game. Tomorrow the world will look a little different again and we will look ahead to Dortmund.”

Will he still be sitting on the bench?
