Carolina Marín raises her level to enter the quarterfinals of the Japan Open

MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Carolina Marín qualified this Thursday for the quarterfinals of the Japan Open, in the Supero 750 category of the badminton world circuit, after defeating the Danish Line Christophersen 21-10, 21-18.

The woman from Huelva once again entered the top eight in a tournament and will now try to take a new step forward in her game and morale against the South Korean An Se Young, current number four in the world ranking and bronze last week at the World Championship in the one that the Andalusian fell in the penultimate round.

After her hard-fought victory against the Chinese Yi Man Zhang, against whom she suffered especially in the first game, the triple world champion offered a better level in her second match, where she dominated her rival more clearly.

Marín came out very focused in the first game and gradually imposed her quality. Six consecutive points allowed her to get away on the scoreboard (11-4) and she did not find much more opposition in Christophersen.

In the second game, the Dane tried to be more competitive and equality was maintained in the early stages, but the Spanish returned to find her best rhythm with five consecutive points to get 13-8 and, despite her rival continuing to try , had no trouble sealing his spot in the quarterfinals.
