The match started in a cautious spirit, and apart from the chance of home Flek and after one power play, nothing major happened on the ice. The defense and the effort not to make a mistake dominated.
The guests have already turned the first small hesitation of Brno against the attacking blue into the first goal of the entire season. After a quick break, Koblas got to the puck in the circle and shot past Čiliak, who got priority between the Brno posts over the fresh reinforcement Furch.

Only after the conceded goal did Kometa add forward, Zaťovič, Ďaloga and Strömberg had chances, but their shots did not lead to an equaliser.
After the first break, the Brno team continued their offensive approach and were rewarded for it. Strömberg scored the first goal for Kometa and in the Czech league at all. Goalkeeper Lukeš did not have a clear conscience. Then Holík burned the puck, but his gloom was dispelled by his partner from the first attack, Horký, when he sent the puck under the crossbar from close range.
The West Bohemians could have equalized after Černoch’s chance, but it was their only opportunity. The home team dictated the tempo of the game and got the third goal, the second from a power play. Strömberg was right again.
At the beginning of the third act, the 34-year-old Finn was close to a hat-trick, but he didn’t make it. His team then reduced the offensive speed and focused more on defending the two-goal lead. When Kofroň had a chance, Čiliak held it, and practically from a counterattack, Kollár prevailed after the stoppage.
The well-being of Kometa was demonstrated by another event, after which the former Karlovy Vary striker Flek scored the first goal for Jihomoravany. Horký sealed Brno’s clear win with his second goal and thus used the third power play.
