Bite into theatrical improvisation with “Les Ours Molaires”

Ludovic Valls, who lives in Saint-Brès, was predestined for illustration, graphic design, drawing… But an encounter will make him move towards improvisational theater which he has been practicing for 15 years. The actor has been teaching for 10 years and performs on the Montpellier stage under the name of Drawer. His register, stand-up shows, sketches and improv.

Ludovic is the founder in 2009 of the association “Les Ours Molaires”, which was born from his desire to create a team and open courses to the public seven years ago. After several requests, a niche has just opened in the town of Saint-Brès.

What is theatrical improvisation?

First of all, it’s about getting out of your comfort zone, gaining self-confidence, listening, having team spirit (you’re never alone on stage), creating stories from scratch.

What are the qualities for improvisation?

Some people think that making those around you laugh or having a good taste is a guarantee of success. Improv is learned through playful exercises, body language, voice, spontaneity, the quality of listening to partners, stimulating your imagination, because there is no text, no of decor.

Who are the people who come to take your courses?

No typical profile, these are people who want to share something, regain self-confidence, overcome their shyness.

Ludovic works with schools and companies to do teambuilding to improve team cohesion. As he recalls “without fun, it is not possible to practice improvisational theatre”.

Adult classes take place on Thursday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the old judo room.
