Avalanche leader McKinnon becomes the highest-paid hockey player

The current contract for the 27-year-old hockey player is valid for one season, so the new contract will end after 2030/2031. seasons of the year. On average, McKinnon will receive $12.6 million per season, the highest salary in the NHL.

The Canadian forward scored 32 goals and provided 56 assists in 65 games of the regular season last season. He was seventh in the league in average points per game (1.35) and shots on goal (299).

In the Stanley Cup, McKinnon scored 13 goals in 20 duels and assisted on another 11 accurate shots.

This fall, the Canadian will start his tenth season in the NHL, where he scored 242 goals and provided 406 assists in 648 games in the regular season. In the playoffs, the forward has 41 accurate shots and 52 assists in 70 games.

McKinnon, the first pick in the 2013 NHL draft, has been among the contenders for the league’s most valuable player award in three of the last five seasons. In 2014, he was recognized as the league’s best rookie, but last year he received the league’s fairest player award.

McKinnon has spent his NHL career with the “Avalanche” team, but before his debut in the strongest championship on the planet, he spent two years in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

McKinnon has also participated in three world championships, helping Canada win gold medals in 2015.
