And the 700 arrived! – DR Sports Moment

By Jesus Alberto Rubio

What a thing… what a thing!

With great emotion yesterday afternoon, the engineer Francisco “Paco” Salazar Encinas told me more than excited by mobile: “Pujols hit two home runs and reached 700”!

That same feeling immediately passed through me, of course and we hugged jubilantly from a distance!

I say no?

And he quickly gave me data and concepts around the Dominican namesake, the only one with that figure along with Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron in the history of the Big Top:

1.- Ted Williams and Albert Pujols, only players in history to hit at least 20 HRs in their first and last season in MLB with a minimum of 10 snaps.

2.- It seems that after difficult years in MLB, figures emerge that raise spirits and make fans return to fill the stadiums.

Examples: Babe Ruth after the 1919 Chicago Black Sox scandal and Fernando Valenzuela after the 1981 summer strike

3.- Players with 700 Hrs and 3,000 hits: Hank Aaron and Albert Pujols.

Excellent, Paco.

And you know where he hit his historic shots: at Dodger Stadium!

Geez, I reaffirmed him again: as I see him hitting, with that maturity and characteristic power in him, I could think that he will return in 2023 looking to reach and exceed at least the 714 left by Babe Ruth.

I wish!

The historical note?

judge waiting

In the meantime, you know, El Juez has landed magnificent shots, but they have not crossed the fence waving the long-awaited No. 61 by all.

At least in Yankee Stadium, the giant Judge has two games left to match Maris’s record –and the American League–, which could happen between today and tomorrow in the series against the Boston Red Sox, who have already won both of them. first games of the series in clashes of look at me and don’t touch me.

Yesterday’s NYY/Boston game article (among other news) can also be read/enjoyed on the same MLB page.

For example, the tenth home run by Alex Verdugo, who yesterday went 2-for-4 (one of his hits was his 36th double) and is now averaging .281, with 70 RBIs; Urquidy’s defeat; the tubey 12 of Meneses; Arozarena’s 20th home run; the double 16 of Paredes, and, among other details, the 4-2 of Esteban “Pony” Quiroz with his Cubs.

What a baseball delight…!

And in the middle of all this dimension, wow!: Albert Pujols, the enormous figure/hero of yesterday!

Don’t you think so?

PS: I’ll leave you Pujols’ MLB statistics… just so you can see what he’s made of:
