Alternative to Harry Kane? FC Bayern is targeting Dusan Vlahovic again

While at the beginning of the season it still looked as if the striker debate at FC Bayern had ended successfully, discussions about a missing center forward have flared up again in the past few days. Appropriately, rumors are making the rounds that Munich are looking for suitable strikers on the transfer market. In Italy, reports are circulating that Dusan Vlahovic should also be an issue on the Isar.

The name Dusan Vlahovic has been circulating on Säbener Straße for some time. The 22-year-old attacker has long been traded as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski at the German record champions. According to reports, there have even been loose contacts between the club and the player in the past. In the winter of 2021/22, however, the Serb moved from AC Fiorentina to Juventus Turin within Serie A. The “old lady” paid a proud 82 million euros for the edgy striker.

Although Vlahovic has only been under contract with Juve for a few months, this is already being associated with a farewell to the Italian record champions. As the Italian daily newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reports, the Serbian international has landed (again) on Bayern Munich’s wish list.

Vlahovic euphoria in Turin is gone

Vlahovic has scored four goals in eight games this season, but the “great euphoria” after the winter transfer in Turin is said to have vanished, as the newspaper claims to have learned. The striker has not scored for 441 minutes and is increasingly the focus of criticism. Coach Massimiliano Allegri is also not said to be a big fan of the striker and finds it difficult to integrate him into his game system.

According to information from “Corriere della Sera”, Bayern are watching Vlahovic’s development in Turin very closely and are quite open to trying it out in the summer of 2023. In his early 20s, Vlahovic would be significantly younger than 29-year-old Harry Kane and thus a sustainable solution for the storm center. Kane has been closely associated with the German record champions for weeks.

Even if Vlahovic is certainly an interesting player, the reports from Italy should be treated with caution. The 1.90 meter tall attacker is contractually bound to Juve until 2026, a renewed sale after just 1.5 years is very unlikely.
