A bonus of 400,000 euros is expected for each football player in the German national team for winning the World Cup / Article

So far, the last time the German national team won the World Cup final was in 2014, when the DFB paid each player a bonus of 300,000 euros. At the next World Cup in 2018, the individual title bonus for the Germans increased to 350,000 euros, but the team did not even make it to the first round of elimination.

The agreement provides that each German national team player will receive 50,000 euros for getting out of the group in Qatar, and the amount will double for reaching the quarter-finals. Even bigger individual cash prizes for players are provided for entering the semi-finals (150,000 euros) and winning 3rd place (200,000 euros), as well as losing in the final (250,000 euros).

DFB president Bernd Neuendorf explained that the agreement on the bonuses was reached in intensive and constructive discussions with the players, but the outcome of the negotiations is acceptable to all parties.

In the group stage, the competitors of the German national team will be players from Spain, Costa Rica and Japan. The final tournament of the World Cup will start on November 20, and the German national team will play its first match on November 23 against Japan.
