The game played this Wednesday in Pamplona has also served to refine the preparation for the Eurobasket that begins in a week.

Other than that, it didn’t have much of a story. In his debut in an official match, Lorenzo Browna recently nationalized American point guard, was the protagonist in the early stages with three assists to the paint against a somewhat clueless Icelandic defense.

Immediately Willy Hernangómez assumed the weight of the attack, seconded by Jaime Pradilla in the second quarter, with which Sergio Scariolo’s team went into the break with a comfortable lead (51-28).

In the second half, Spain was not so inspired, but avoided Iceland’s reaction with a prominent role from Rudy Fernandez, who has become the third basketball player with more internationalities in the men’s team, 237, after beating Felipe Reyes. He is only surpassed by Juan Carlos Navarro (253) and Epi (239).

In the end, Willy (New Orleans Pelicans) was the game’s top scorer, with 19, in a generally good game for the Spanish team.

By the way, the coach ruled out Xabi López-Arostegui and Joel Parra for this match (although they are still in the pre-selection for the Eurobasket) and the game started a few minutes late because the net of a basket had to be changed.
