JALEN ROSE showed that her athletic prowess doesn’t necessarily translate to the golf course with a painful appearance in the annual Ally Challenge.
The 49-year-old former NBA star enjoyed a thirteen-year career in the league and was part of the famous “Fab Five” of the University of Michigan.
Rose comes from a long line of sports stars, with her biological father Jimmy Walker being the # 1 pick in the 1967 NBA Draft.
But skills with a golf club clearly don’t come naturally to the 6 foot 8 former Nuggets and Pacers star.
Rose’s footage went viral as the gamer-turned-expert took part in the Ally Challenge Celebrity Shootout in Warwick Hills, Michigan this weekend.
Preparing for the tee-off at Par 3 seventeenth, Rose was cheered by a huge crowd who were eager to see how she would deal with the diabolical water and bunker traps.
But there was no danger to anyone in the crowd as Rose showed a shocking swing, cutting away CINQUE times to the stationary ball.
He failed to make contact with every wild swing of the club – making huge divorces in the process – as the audience’s reaction became more exasperated with each failed contact.
Eventually, golf legend Jack Nicklaus was forced to step in to save Rose from further embarrassment.
Ripping the club out of laughter from the NBA star, he said, “See this thing here?
“This is what you hit the ball with. Swing it back, swing it through.
“Let the club do the work.”
The Golden Bear council did enough to allow Rose to make contact, rubbing her shot about 15 yards from the tee box.
‘WORST SWING IN HISTORY’
Rose has been declared a good sport by some golf enthusiasts, but others have declared her swing one of the “worst ever”.
One said, “If you were doing a Mount Rushmore of the worst athlete golf swings in the history of mankind, you start right here.”
While another added: “Golf can make the athletic look very un-athletic.”
And a third joked: “How long would it take Jalen to play 18 holes? Over / Under is 3 days. I’ll give him a lot of credit for putting himself in that position… golf is a humbling sport, no matter how great an athlete you are. “
A quarter simply said, “How is it possible for a professional athlete to have such a terrible swing?”
Rose was playing at the annual charity event that aims to help local charities in the greater Flint area.
The main tournament featured a 54-hole stroke play competition and featured 78 PGA Tour Champions professionals competing for a $ 2 million grant.
The Celebrity Shootout meanwhile saw a number of Michigan natives put their skills to the test on the fairways.
Along with Rose played Detroit Red Wings star Dylan Larkin, boxer Anthony Dirrell, golfer Kim Moore and MSU star Charlie Bell.
