Vecvagar stays in the second Spanish league and joins “Caceres” – Basketball – Sportacentrs.com

The 29-year-old Latvian defender Kaspars Vecvagars represented the “Basquet Girona” team last season, helping it win the “LEB Oro” for the first time in history and enter the Spanish ACB league. The parties did not agree on the continuation of cooperation.

In the ranks of Mark Gasol’s team, Kaspars Vecvagar spent an average of less than 21 minutes on the court, scoring 8.2 points and grabbing 2.4 rebounds.

It has become known that the Latvian will continue to play in Spain’s second league next season, having signed a contract with Caceres. Last season, Caceres finished eighth in the Spanish second league, but lost to Forca Lleida in the decisive quarterfinal match.

The 193-centimeter-tall basketball player will spend the fourth season in a row in the Spanish “LEB Oro” championship. He previously played for “Forca Lleida” and “Palencia”.

Before going to Spain, the Latvian started his career in the Kaunas “Žalgiris” system and in the adult team. Also, Veczavagars has also represented “VEF Riga”, “Jūrmala”, “Lietkabelis” and “Wilki Morskie” in Poland.
