US justice approves equal pay for men and women in selection

This is another victory for equal pay between men and women in football. In 2016, several female players filed a federal complaint for wage discrimination, explaining that they were paid less than male players while they generate more income for the American Federation.

This Friday, a California judge gave preliminary approval to a $24 million settlement from the United States Soccer Federation against the women’s team. The final approval of this agreement should take place during the hearing on December 5th.

Two million for player aid associations

The two parties reached a $22 million agreement in February to resolve their dispute. The sum should be distributed between the players according to the time of play. Two million additional dollars will be paid for associations of assistance to the players in their post-career.
