Tsitsipas a la final

Medvedev started the match better, taking a quick chance to break up in the first game. The Russian continued to dominate him without suffering shocks for a few games, until Stefanos managed to recover that break, leaving everything 3-3. Parity began to reign in the match, experiencing moments of high-level tennis, without a new difference arising on the scoreboard. In the defining tiebreak, Tsitsipas had to save a set point to then take the set with an 8-6 tiebreak.

A trend similar to the beginning of the previous set, arrived for the second. Medvedev started sweeping, holding on to some key errors of the Hellenic to make convincing differences in the score, and now not letting it get away. In just a short while, Daniil was up 5-0, showing all his ambition to stay alive in the match. Tsitsipas raised some sensations and recovered one of the breaks, although it was too late for a total comeback. Medvedev saved another 0-40 at 5-3, to close the set in his favor 6-3.

Medvedev had won the second set, yes, but Tsitsipas was the one who had finished with the best feeling, solid in his last turns of serve and generating danger from the return. So it was that the Greek himself found a favorable difference that would be essential for the closing. Stefanos went 4-2, leaving him close to a victory to celebrate and a lot. Medvedev tried to put up a fight, but the Greek was very focused on his ultimate goal. So it was that Tsitsipas sentenced history with another 6-3, getting access to the final of this Cincinnati Masters.
