Transfer cracker from the NBA: Bayern basketball players get Isaac Bonga. – Sports

The FC Bayern basketball players have presented their fifth signing, and it’s a tough one: National player Isaac Bonga will play for the Euroleague participants in the coming season and should help to forget the season without a title. Despite his young age of 22, the playmaker brings plenty of experience from the NBA to the Isar. Bonga played 148 games for the Los Angeles Lakers (with LeBron James, among others), the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors.

Despite loose requests from the world’s top league, Bonga signed in Munich, much to the delight of sporting director Daniele Baiesi: “Isaac is incredibly versatile and talented. He is a modern player whose great potential has not yet been fully exploited. We are honored that he chose us to do just that now.” The new Bayern playmaker is still on sick leave, which is why he will miss the European Championships at home (September 1st to 18th). In the 83-73 win in the World Cup qualifier against Poland in early July, he injured his ankle and had to undergo surgery. But especially in the German selection, including the Olympics in Tokyo, the versatile 2.04 meter tall guard showed impressive performances.

Despite his impressive size for a point guard, Bonga dynamically seeks his way to the basket, has a good eye for the man next to him, a good shot from distance – and is a strong defender. His injury could have been the last impetus for FC Bayern, because the medical department in Munich enjoys an excellent reputation. The 100-kilogram athlete is currently completing a precisely worked out build-up program.
