The Government supports women’s sport with aid totaling more than 150,000 euros

The Balearic Government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs and Sports, supports women’s sport with aid totaling more than 150,000 euros.

As reported by the Government in a press release, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Sports has published this Tuesday in the BOIB the granting of aid to women’s sports corresponding to the 2021/2022 season for a total value of 152,453.85 euros.

The aid is divided into two lines, whose objective is to promote, make visible and normalize women’s sport, challenges set out in the line of promoting equality in sport that the Executive wants to promote. These subsidies complement the ordinary aid for clubs and athletes contemplated by the General Directorate of Sports.

On the one hand, 30 grants are awarded to women’s teams or teams with the participation of women who participate in national category competitions. This line benefits 25 individual or team sports clubs, such as hockey, volleyball, badminton, football, archery, swimming or table tennis. The aid adds up to a total of 127,181.21 euros.

On the other hand, the sports technical training grants benefit 37 women. The total granted is 25,272.64 euros, which subsidize level 1, 2 or 3 sports training and non-regulated sports training such as judge courses, nutrition, sports psychology, etc.

The beneficiary entities and individuals can be consulted in the BOIB for this Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

This call was launched in 2017, will be maintained for the new season and is added to other general aid for clubs and athletes that is also managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Sports -for example, for travel, transport of sports equipment, organization of events, outstanding athletes, etc.–.
