The CB A Estrada reigns in Asturias

Rodrigo Sanjurjo and Nikol Carulla shone at the Iberdrola Spanish Junior held in Oviedo. The pair of players from Estrada were proclaimed winners in individual and mixed. In the final, Sanjurjo and Carulla did not fail against Jesús de Burgos and Amaia Torralba (21-15 and 21-7). The Badminton team A Estrada dominated the match and, although Burgos and Torralba did not make it easy for them, they ended up taking the match and the gold medal after 28 intense minutes.

In the men’s singles, Sanjurjo met all expectations, beating Iván Torre in two sets (21-13 and 21-15). The Estradense player started as the first seed and in the 29 minutes that the match lasted he proved to be in very good shape. Already in the final, the one from A Estrada played for gold against Álvaro Morán. The clash began with a great equality on the scoreboard, but the Galician did not take long to show why he was the first seed and took advantage by scoring the first round. Although the Andalusian tried to come back, Sanjurjo did not lower the piston and got the second set on track until he sentenced the match by a score of 21-12 and 21-11 in 29 minutes.

With regard to the women’s singles draw, Nikol Carulla and Marta González played the first semifinal, the Estradense being the one who got the pass to the final by fast track (21-8 and 21-11) in just 19 minutes of the match .

In the duel for the title, Carulla faced Elena Teruel in a very close match, where A Estrada did not give any point for losing, despite the closeness of the match (21-19 and 21-17), taking a deserved gold medal at the event in the Asturian capital.
