“In my opinion, it is simply a mistake to bring in a footballer after an injury, moreover after an unsuccessful engagement abroad. It’s another nonsense. Especially when he still goes to Sparta, where a lot of things don’t work. And until that changes, that club will destroy other young talents it nurtures in its academy.” said Luhový for eFotbal, who has been criticizing the actions of the Prague club’s management for a long time.
And groping for a prestigious brand proves him right. The famous international considers it a utopia that the arrival of Jankt would significantly improve the team’s game.
“It is irrelevant that he played in Getafe or before that in Italy. If he really thinks that the engagement at Letná can somehow help him, then I claim that the result will be nothing, or only half as good,” said the participant of the World Championship in Italy (1990), where he managed to be among the top scorers.
Another thing is that Jankto is returning to the Czech Republic at the age of 26. That is, at an age when, on the contrary, he should be doing everything to fight for a place abroad. Or not?
“I don’t know if he has any personal concerns or why he’s coming back at all. But it shows a person’s character. Instead of such a young player trying to make it as far as possible in football, he chose an easier path. And he got the chance to play in Serie A, then again in La Liga. The fact that he chose to come to Sparta unfortunately means his lower football quality.” said Luhový.
And how would he deal with the Slovakian stopper Dávid Hanck, for whom the Dutch Feyenoord embellished the offer up to 140 million? Should Tomáš Rosický keep him in the squad at all costs?
“I do not think. If someone offers that kind of money for Hanck, I would let him go. When one sees the mistake he de facto caused Sparta’s elimination from the European Cups, he immediately realizes that he has a similar performance limit as, for example, Bořek Dočkal.” pointed out Luhový and pointed to a fundamental deficiency in Letenský’s game.
“The construction of the game, the establishment of the attack, does not work for Sparta at all. Vertically or horizontally, even from the goalkeeper. The consequence of this is what happened to Hanck in Norway. He stood there with the ball and everyone, including the goalkeeper, just watched what he was going to do. And I have the impression that it starts already from teenagers,” stated the popular glossary of football events.
“If Hancko makes such a mistake, I seriously think that the best thing is to sell him. Especially for this money. Of course, the ideal solution would be for the owner to sell the entire club. But that didn’t happen, so they are without cups.” concluded Luhový.
