The 8th Medieval of the castle will take place this weekend

Les Piliers du Castel, enthusiasts who “attempt to recreate the lives of fictional or real characters, with tents, weapon racks, costumes, etc. will be present, as well as the association of historical reconstitution Au gré desarmes, volunteers passing on history reproducing a camp life of the XIIe in the 15the centuries.

The Clan des loups de la Seudre will also participate, a section of the Francs Archers de la Seudre club in Saint-Sulpice-de-Royan, practicing medieval archery as well as flexible instinctive shooting in the middle of the forest; the Knights of the Unicorn who create their own costumes; as well as the Mesnie de l’Ozine, whose motto of the association – “discipline and chopine” – reveals the state of mind of these buffs of the history of the IXe era XIIe centuries.

Workshops and show

In addition to these various medieval activities, a craft market and various workshops will be presented on the site as well as an equestrian show of vaulting and horse training on the esplanade at the bottom of the castle – which was, a long time ago, a pretty French garden, says Paul Chenard, the owner of the castle. He has many projects in mind to bring the site to life, some of which are already in place, such as the screens that will allow a digital visit linked to the history of the castle in different rooms. Léanne Hunault, alternating for a year, Lorraine Dorion, intern, and Maxence Pons, tour guide, will welcome visitors.
