Renewed Poliedro de Caracas will receive Basketball All-Star Game

A renewed Poliedro de Caracas will host the Venezuelan basketball All-Star Game this Saturday, August 13, promising a show of the highest level.

The classic, which marks the middle of the season in the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB), returns to the scene for the first time since 2016.

Getting basketball out of the bubble forced by the pandemic, adding teams and returning to the venues was an immense challenge for the new SPB board, amid the integration of the Super League and the Professional Basketball League (SPB).

But they wanted more. They jumped to the fore offering spectacle and emotion, and from day one they began to work to fulfill that mission.

“For us it was very important to create the brand… People ask themselves: What is the SPB? How much does it include?” Questioned the president of the league, José Gregorio Hernández,

“Well, it is a whole universe that we are forming through the merger of the Super League and the LPB, with which we want to offer something more than competition per se… The All-Star Game is the first of many events that we want to do to catch the fanatic”, explained the manager.

Entertaining and even captivating a new audience is the basis of this entire ambitious event, which of course was a huge challenge for the league.

More than a game

This Saturday’s All-Star Game, which will go down in history as the 40th edition, will be more than a sporting confrontation between two quintets.

The musicians Víctor and Gabo, Neutro Shorty and the international Noriel will animate the day. And there will also be 3-point and dunk competitions in the best NBA style.

The duel is at 6:00 pm, but the previous contests will start two hours before.

Transport

To guarantee the transfer of the fans to the Poliedro de Caracas, the SPB directive activated two transportation routes with the following exit points:

  • The Two Paths
  • Venezuela Square
  • Metro Capitol
  • Black cat
  • Peace
  • Route 1 will leave at 3:00 pm and will be back at 9:00 pm. The other will leave at 5:00 pm and return back at 9:30 pm.
