Werner came in a private jet from Red Bull boss Mateschitz

Leipzig’s king transfer Timo Werner (26) is back!

The national striker landed at Leipzig Airport on Monday evening at 8:32 p.m. in a private jet from “The Flying Bulls”, Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz’s (78) private jet fleet. Also present: friend Paula Lense.

Slightly late: Instead of 5:15 p.m., Werner only got off at Biggin Hill Airport in London about an hour later.

Werner again from Leipzig! The national striker was immediately picked up from the tarmac by head of security Uwe Matthias, and Werner then checked into the five-star hotel “Steigenberger” in the city centre.

There he was welcomed by Florian Scholz (Commercial Director Sport) and Christopher Vivell (Technical Director). Father-in-law and sports psychologist Sasche Lense (ex-RB, Schalke and ManUtd) was also there.

The medical check is due on Tuesday. According to BILD information, Werner will sign a four-year contract.

The first training session will take place on Wednesday – albeit behind closed doors. On Saturday (3.30 p.m.) in the home game against Cologne, Werner should then be in the RB squad.

The national player returns to Germany two years after moving to the island. At that time, the striker went to the Blues for 53 million euros, but was not quite convincing with 23 goals in 89 games.

Werner previously played for RB for four years, scoring 90 goals in 152 games and giving 40 assists. That’s another reason why Leipzig, who were looking for even more speed on the offensive, wanted Werner back. And he only wanted to go to Leipzig when he changed!

Now RB boss Oliver Mintzlaff (46) has made the deal perfect. SPORT BILD reported a week ago that Werner and Leipzig are negotiating intensively with each other.
