Europe’s top clubs are chasing Leipzig’s defensive star Josko Gvardiol (20)!
According to BILD information, both Chelsea and Manchester City signed the defender this summer. After City had bid 80 million euros for the Croatian weeks ago (BILD reported exclusively), Chelsea are said to have entered poker with coach Thomas Tuchel (49).

A transfer fee of 90 million euros was under discussion. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reports on this. An almost immoral offer. But the deal doesn’t go through – Gvardiol stays in Leipzig!
Club boss Oliver Mintzlaff (47) to BILD: “Josko is a great player who will certainly arouse a lot of interest – he still has a contract with us until 2026. We assume that he will not only play with us this season, but also next season.”

Gvardiol stays! The reason: RB would only have sold the Croatian for next year, an immediate change was not an option. But both Chelsea and Manchester City want Gvardiol already. And Mintzlaff doesn’t do that given the tense personnel situation on the defensive.
Because of Lukas Klostermann’s injury, there are currently only five players for three central defender positions. And Gvardiol is just fighting his way back to his performance limit after thigh surgery.
But of course: The Croatian is still at the top of the list for the Premier League clubs. The next offers for him are only a matter of time …
