Ravachol renews six key pieces of its first team

The sports management of the Ravachol Pontevedra Badminton Club has just announced 6 renewals in the First Team, which will compete one more year in the highest national category, the Honor Division.

The captains, Alejandro Nogueira and Raquel Miguens, Javier Sánchez, Elena Fernández, Pablo Sanmartín and María Torres will continue one more year in the squad, which will also include the youth squad Hugo Salgueiro, who joins the First Team.

Nogueira and Miguens, captains since their arrival at the team in the 2018-2019 season, renew their relationship with the Pontevedra entity for another season. Although their prominence in the lineups has diminished, they continue to be indispensable pieces for the team and perform at a high level when needed, despite the fact that work obligations do not allow them to train as in previous years.

The doubles section is guaranteed with the renewals of Sánchez and Fernández. The player from Almería and the player from Asturias arrived in the winter market of the 2020-2021 season and, injuries aside, they have been important pieces in the team, a role that they are expected to maintain during this campaign.

Sanmartín and Torres close this section of renewals, to which is added the youth squad Hugo Salgueiro, who confirms his promotion to the First Team and will seek to have his chance in the highest category, despite being only 17 years old.

As for casualties, it is confirmed that Lucía Rodriguez will not continue with Ravachol Pontevedra. The Galician player will play again with her team of all her life, CB As Neves, in the First National, after a few months on loan in Pontevedra.

The other confirmed loss is that of the British Luke Pearce, who has not been registered in the first team, although he will continue to have a license for Ravachol Pontevedra.

“We have renewed most of the squad from last season, and shortly we will announce two signings of foreign athletes who will come to replace the casualties and add quality to the team. We are happy with the team we have and we will fight again to maintain the category one more year” affirmed Ravachol’s Sports Director, Jesús Pereiro.
