Messi, Neymar, and Mbappé carry PSG and continue to send a message to the rest of Ligue 1, like their 7-1 victory against Lille. In Spain, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have won, while Bayern Munich are already leaders in the Bundesliga.

Ligue 1: Mbappé, Neymar and Messi in demonstration against Lille, Rennes finally wins

After just three rounds, the defending champions are already the only team on nine points out of nine, with 16 goals scored. And even if Lyon (4e, 6 points, one game less) can do just as well, PSG seem unplayable, carried by their dazzling Messi-Neymar-Mbappé trio. Last example to date, the big victory 7 to 1 against a Lille overwhelmed by the Parisian firepower.

After the bickering between Mbappé and Neymar about the No. 1 penalty taker, the big victory and the smiles of the occasion evacuated the tensions: “It’s a great satisfaction to see them happy on the field, playing for each other. Obviously there is talent, and when this talent comes together, it makes for a very enjoyable match,” Parisian coach Christophe Galtier savored at the microphone of Amazon Prime Video.

Mbappé came very close to equaling the old record for the fastest goal in the French championship, recorded in 1992 by Michel Rio for Stade Malherbe Caen.

Still without a win this season, unable to beat Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Thursday (1-0) in the Europa League Conference, Nice sank in Clermont after a goal from Saîf-Eddine Khaoui (5e minute), losing in turn Mario Lemina (80e) then Jean-Clair Todibo (82e), excluded.

For Rennes (9es4 points) on the other hand, the alarm clock rang against Ajaccio, with goals from Martin Terrier (18e) et Arthur Theate (62e), despite the exclusion of defensive midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu (90e+2). As for Olympique de Marseille, we also savored a precious victory in pain against FC Nantes (2-1) despite the expulsion of Samuel Gigot.

La Liga: Real Madrid, Villarreal, Osasuna and Betis Sevilla co-leaders

Thanks to Robert Lewandowski, scorer for his birthday, Ousmane Dembélé and Ansu Fati, FC Barcelona tamed Real Sociedad 4-1 in San Sebastian for the second day of La Liga, after an electric match

For its part, Atletico Madrid was surprised 2-0 at home by Villarreal of Unaï Emery, semi-finalist of the Champions League last year. The “yellow submarine” has already struck a blow and continues its perfect start to the championship with a second consecutive victory after its inaugural success in Valladolid (3-0). The match was marked by whistles from Madrid fans against Frenchman Antoine Griezmann when he came on.

Madrid’s other club, Real, had corrected Celta Vigo 4-1 in Galicia the day before. La Liga has four provisional leaders tied with Osasuna and Betis Sevilla, winners of Cadiz and Mallorca, as well as Villarreal and Real Madrid.

Serie A: AC Milan drops points, Naples fills up

AC Milan were held back by Atalanta (1-1) in Bergamo, during a rhythmic duel, while Napoli continued their start to the season with a bang against Monza (4-0), thanks to two goals from the Georgian rookie Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on Sunday during the 2e Serie A day.

Napoli, already flamboyant at the opening in Verona (5-2), is the only team to have so far taken full points (6) with Inter Milan, victorious on Saturday from La Spezia (3-0), in awaiting the matches of Roma and Juventus on Monday, respectively against Cremonese at the Olimpico and Sampdoria in Genoa.

Fiorentina, Napoli’s next opponent, failed to win in the Tuscan derby in Empoli (0-0) despite a last half hour played on the numerical superiority, three days after the first leg of the Europa League Conference won against Twente (2-1).

Bundesliga: Bayern already alone in the lead after the comeback suffered by Dortmund

Bayern Munich did not miss their chance to settle alone at the top of the championship by outclassing Bochum (7-0) away on Sunday, at the end of the 3e German championship day.

In three Bundesliga matches, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have scored 15 goals, to sign three successes in attacking demonstration. They are even at 20 goals, if we add the five planted in Leipzig for the coronation in the Supercup (5-3).

After leading by two goals at the start of the last quarter of an hour, Borussia Dortmund scuttled themselves and conceded three goals between the 89e and the 95e, conceding a first loss this season against Werder Bremen (3-2) in its Westfalenstadion. Bayern’s other announced competitor, RB Leipzig, also lost in their match against Union Berlin (2-1).

Premier League: Arsenal in the lead after Manchester City failure

Manchester City had to settle for a draw (3-3) in an impressively intense match at Newcastle. Pep Guardiola’s team had however ideally started their match with a goal from Gündogan in the fifth minute of play, on a perfect serve from Bernardo Silva.

The reaction of the Magpies was as unexpected as it was spectacular. The teammates of Frenchman Allan Saint-Maximin, author of two assists, turned the tide by passing three goals to the Skyblues in the space of 26 minutes thanks to Almiron (28e), Wilson (39e) and Trippier (54e). But the Citizens have once again reacted as champions. In surface fox, Haaland brought his own to a length of a powerful strike in the surface (60e). Bernardo Silva converted a bright pass from De Bruyne in stride (64e) and tied the two teams.

After a good poorly paid performance against Tottenham last Sunday (2-2), Chelsea disappointed against Leeds (3-0) despite their squad cut for the Champions League and well reinforced this summer by the arrivals of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly. With seven points out of nine possible, Leeds climbs on its side to the 3e place, just ahead of the other surprise team at the start of the season, Brighton, winner at West Ham (2-0).

Graham Potter’s team had already beaten Manchester United on their home turf two weeks ago (2-1). On Sunday, she took advantage of the poor form of West Ham, last with three defeats and no goals. West Ham, qualified for the preliminary round of the Europa League Conference thanks to its 7e place last season will remain red lantern at the end of this day if Manchester United do not lose Monday against Liverpool (9 p.m.), another team in poor shape at the start of the 2022/23 financial year.
