On Saturday, the Latvian indoor football champion team “Petrow” was successful in the third game of the UEFA Champions League preliminaries, which allowed them to enter the main round of the competition. “Petrow” beat “Europa” from Gibraltar with the result 8:1 (2:0).

It has already been reported that in the first match “Petrow” defeated the home team “Yerevan” 7:2 (4:2), but in the second game “Helvecia” from London lost 6:9 (4:5). In the last group game, Helvecia lost to Yerevan 4-8, resulting in two wins for three of the four teams. Petrow had the best goals-against difference among the three teams, which allowed them to secure a place in the main round.

Also at this stage of the tournament, only the winners of the first places in the four subgroups will advance to the elite round. In the final series of last season’s “Optibet” indoor football superleague, “Petrow”/”Jelgava” defeated “Raba” team 3-1, becoming the best in the country for the second time in history.
