Persib Bandung Fined for Rp. 200 Million Flare, Here’s Viking’s Response

Jakarta

Persib Bandung was fined Rp 200 million for his fans lighting flares into the stadium. Viking Persib Club (VPC) regrets the actions of these individuals.

The flare-up incident by unscrupulous Persib supporters occurred in the middle of the 2-2 draw against Bhayangkara FC in the 2022/2023 Liga 1 match at Wibawa Mukti Stadium on Sunday (24/7). VPC regrets this action. They admitted that they had reminded Bobotoh several times not to carry and light flares in the stadium.

“The flare fine is in Bekasi (Wibawa Mukti), friends (Bobotoh) must also be really aware that flares cannot be for whatever reason,” said VPC Public Relations Officer Hendri Ibro when confirmed by detikJabar, Tuesday (2/8/2022). ).

According to him, the fine is certainly very detrimental to his beloved club, Persib Bandung. Not only that, he said, if Bobotoh continued to light flares in the stadium, it is not impossible that Bobotoh would also receive losses in the future.

“When you insist on bringing flares, the proof is that there is a fine, which is the team’s loss. In the future, it may not only be Persib that has to pay a fine, it can be (the match) without spectators. If there are no spectators, we will also be harmed,” he said.

Hendri also revealed that the fine that Persib had to pay of Rp 200 million would be much more useful for other purposes such as coaching young players and educational activities for supporters.

Therefore, he once again reminded Bobotoh to understand the prohibition of lighting flares. According to Hendri, Viking Persib Club has also made a commitment not to harm the team by bringing flares.

“So the width (unfortunately) is Rp. 200 million, if you use player salaries, coaching, for educating supporters, you can. So the Vikings also continue to educate that flares have been banned, there are clear articles when they are banned,” he said.

“We (Viking Persib Club) are committed because we continue to explain to our friends about this (flare) ban, the article is that if the flare continues, this flare is on,” he said.

The decision regarding the sanctions for Persib Bandung was taken at the PSSI Komdis meeting on July 29, 2022, the results of which were announced on Sunday (31/7/2022) through the PSSI official website.

In his statement, it was stated the type of violation that was made, namely the lighting of flares in large numbers by Persib Bandung supporters. The penalty is a fine of IDR 200 million.
