Outstanding Mike Trésor leads Genk to fifth consecutive victory and the leader’s place

Leader KRC Genk continues on his elan. Especially the efficient wingers Trésor (two goals, one assist) and Paintsil (one goal, two assists) enjoyed themselves during the game of cat and mouse on Seraing (0-4).

Wouter Vrancken did not change his winning eleven, Nemeth preferred Onuachu deep in the striker. Not the most rewarding role on the narrow field of Seraing, where against a very compact home team, an attacker certainly gets little room to manifest himself.

Heynen misses penalty kick

In such a one-way street on an overcrowded playing field, it is crucial to find the balance between patience and the urge to attack. You may not force things, but you must continue to tire the opponent.

And especially to score as early as possible to break the game open. Captain Bryan Heynen had the perfect opportunity from the spot for this, after Tremoulet had blocked a cross from El Khannouss too flashy by hand. The Golden Bull, who entered the fight with his number 8 on his back, did not bring Heynen any luck. He deviated from his favorite right corner, Dietsch had little trouble with the weak place ball to the left.

treasure opent of score

That penalty miss had already been forgotten and forgiven before half an hour. Thanks to Mike Trésor, one of those other men in shape. Unlike his neighbor Paintsil, he did find the free spaces to make his opponent doubt. Five minutes after he saw a free kick stranded on the outside of the post, Trésor created enough space for a place ball with the right. He got the help of a Liège foot to disappear into the farthest corner unsustainably: 0-1.

Genk, for example, was allowed to head for the changing rooms with a deserved lead, an attentive Vandevoordt only had to roll up his sleeves on a header from Conceicao.

Paintsil doubles

Substitute Elisor forced the Genk goalkeeper to make his second save five minutes after the break, suddenly it got warm in front of the Genk cage. Certainly when Tremoulet was allowed to moor freely and Marius deviated his hard cross-shot.

The Liège Renaissance created space on the other side. Where the visitors controlled the mix much better. Trésor punished fumbling in the Seraing defense with a simple ball towards Paintsil, the 0-2 simply kicked past Dietsch.

Playground

The fence was off the dam, the last resistance broken. Seraing left his hedgehog position and became a bird to the cat. Paintsil, in particular, thoroughly enjoyed his new playground. A first assist was wonderfully completed with the left side of outstanding player Trésor (0-3), a second assist disappeared through the foot of the sliding Lepoint against the nets (0-4).

In the meantime, the Genk sofas were also allowed to join the festive table. In addition, Castro impressed with his vista, calm and ball handling. And Maaslander Matisse Didden was allowed to play his first minutes in the first team.

It all fitted perfectly with the relaxed walk on Saturday afternoon, which gave KRC Genk a fifth victory in a row. And in the lead loved the ranking. Racing seems ready for the derby, which will also be completed in the afternoon next Saturday.
