Bragadense tennis player Genaro Olivieri will debut this Tuesday in the United States Open classification, the fourth and last Grand Slam of the year, which is played on cement, in New York.
The 24-year-old athlete will have as a rival in the first round the Italian veteran Roberto Marcora, 33, currently ranked 589th in the world ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Marcora managed to be 150th in the world, which was his best position in his career.
Olivieri, for his part, appears today in 227th place in the ranking, so, in the previous one, he starts as the favorite in the match. The one from Bragado seeks to play a Grand Slam main draw for the first time as a professional, although he already played the US Open as a junior. The contest, whose defending champion is Russian Daniil Medvedev, will begin on Monday 29.
