Salzburg was spared an embarrassment in front of 3,900 spectators in Ried, but Gurten fought back bravely. Salzburg missed an early goal as Amar Dedic failed at Gurten goalie Felix Wimmer (15′) and the crossbar (25′). In addition, Maximilian Wöber was unlucky to volley after a Seiwald free-kick that hit the pole (44′).
Luckily, the favorite’s leading goal fell before the break. Florian Schütz (45.+1) headed a wide Wöber shot over Wimmer into his own net when trying to return it. After the restart, after missed chances by Luka Sucic (57th) and Junior Adamu (64th), the young Dijon Kameri (64th) hit the corner with a well-placed shot from 20 meters. Admira succeeds in “revenge” against Altach
Second division FC Flyeralarm Admira cleared the Altach hurdle impressively. The relegated team didn’t give the Bundesliga team a chance with a 3-0 (3-0) win and returned the favor at least a little for going into the 2nd division. In the Styrian second division duel, GAK won 2-1 (0-0) at SV Lafnitz, FAC Vienna retained the upper hand 2-1 after extra time in Kapfenberg, and in the Lower Austria derby Horn eliminated St. Pölten 3-1.
