NBA star left team chat at sticky moment, shocking Brooklyn megastar

Ben Simmons has been the focus of criticism at the Philadelphia 76ers after his huge disappointment during the 2021 NBA playoffs. Simmons never played a game for the Sixers after that and was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where he did not play due to concerns about his mental health and back injuries.

Trouble with NBA team Brooklyn: Simmons simply left the group chat

The 25-year-old guard was rumored to be making his debut in Game 4 of the first-round series of the Eastern Conference NBA playoffs between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics, but that didn’t happen after he missed the game due to an alleged back problem (Brooklyn lost the series 0:4 and was eliminated).

NBA insider Ric Bucher has now revealed a thorny story about Simmons, his teammate and NBA superstar Kevin Durant and the Nets locker room. According to Bucher, Nets players asked Simmons in the team’s group chat if he was ready to play in Game 4. However, not only did Simmons not reply, he simply left the group chat.

NBA star Durant horrified by teammate Ben Simmons

This left Nets superstar Kevin Durant feeling very frustrated and wondering what kind of player he actually had to play with in Brooklyn.

Bucher: “They had a team meeting before Game 4 and thought that Simmons would play. They asked him: “Are you going to play?. Ben left the chat. He didn’t even answer the question, just left the chat.” Bucher continued: “Durant asked himself, ‘I signed for this? Is this someone you want me to play with?’
