It’s official, Michael Stockton will be the Élan Béarnais playmaker for the 2022-2023 season.
As announced, Michael Stockton (1.85 m, 33 years old) will wear the colors ofÉlan Béarnais next season. Master to play Cholet Basket between 2019 and 2021, the son of John Stockton is the first recruit of the Pau staff.
This experienced leader will know his third club in France after Cholet and Champagne Basket. Arrived with the aim of keeping the Marnais club in Betclic ELITE, he had not allowed his people to achieve their objective despite good performances (11.8 points at 52.3% shooting success, 2.8 rebounds and 6 .6 assists for 15.4 rating in 29 minutes of play over 12 games).
Next season, the native of Spokane (Washington) will evolve with Vitalis Chikoko, Giovan Oniangue and Gérald Ayayi, the only three survivors of the American era. On the club’s official website, his new coach Eric Bartecheky – who extended until June 2025 – praised his qualities as a passer and a unifying leader:
“Michael Stockton is a unifying playmaker with recognized passing quality. He knows how to make his teammates shine. He has a high basketball IQ, plays with his head and with Vitalis (Chikoko) he forms a 1-5 axis which should give us guarantees. This connection is fundamental and we now need to build the team around it. »
