Mexican baseball stars and IMSS promote physical reactivation and sports

Former Major League Baseball players such as Fernando “El Toro” Valenzuela”, Vinicio Castilla and Teodoro Higuera, participate with the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) on the “IMSS Baseball Clinic 2022”, as part of the beginning of the “National Program of Physical Activation for Health”, to prevent chronic non-communicable diseases and promote sports from an early age.

The inauguration of the Clinic took place in the Fray Nano Stadiumin Mexico City, where children between the ages of 13 and 17 from all over the country participated in high-performance activities with professional coaches and national baseball players, including Jorge Cantú, Iván Terrazas and Juan Carlos Gamboa.

The Clinic is part of the start of the Baseball Sports Initiation Schools that will open their doors in different Decentralized Administrative Operation Bodies (OOAD) of IMSS in the country. This will be taught by Vinicio Castilla and Miguel Valdez, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Thursday; and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Friday.

The inauguration of the activities was also attended by the Hector Garcia Antonytechnical coordinator of Physical Culture and Sports; Cesar Yanez Centeno, Undersecretary of the Interior; Admiral José Tomas Jorge Tress Zilly, Inspector and Comptroller General of the Navy, on behalf of Admiral Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán; Oscar Flores Jiménez, Senior Official of the Ministry of Public Education, and Evelyn Parra, Mayor of Venustiano Carranza.
