Matz Sels just can’t take away points from Philippe Clement’s Monaco with Strasbourg | Ligue 1 Uber Eats 2022/2023

In his first half season in France, Philippe could have given Clement his calling card, but could he also confirm in year 2?

Matz Sels did everything he could in the Strasbourg goal to ruin the start of Monaco. He had to give in just before half-time. Ex-Club striker Krépin Diatta, only back after a serious cruciate ligament injury, opened the score.

When Diatta’s striker brother Sofiane Diop also scored shortly after the break, the game seemed over.

But Strasbourg did not give up and Habib Diallo thought he could claim a hero’s role when he first made the 1-2 and then also the 2-2 in extra time. Unfortunately, the party was cancelled. The VAR had seen that there was offside in the game.

On Tuesday, Clement awaits a new exam with Monaco, in the second leg of the CL preliminary round against PSV. The first leg ended in the principality at 1-1.
