PSV player Savio beams after his debut with promises: ‘The most beautiful day in my life’ | Football

It was a modest debut, at the second level, for the player who has been used to the Brazilian Serie A and the Copa Libertadores lately. A little awkward too. But with a few actions, the 18-year-old talent showed that PSV will enjoy him a lot. Twice he concluded a solo action with a shot with his strong left leg. Both times the ball went just wide.

Furthermore, Savio put a ball dead on his foot. He showed the best example just before half time. Savio controlled the ball with his back by tensing the muscles for a moment. “You will soon see things like that in the Eredivisie,” he said. “I don’t do it to belittle people. It is embedded in my way of playing football,” said Savio, who will continue to increase the number of playing minutes at Jong PSV in the coming weeks.

PSV have done everything they can to make it as comfortable as possible for the footballer. This week he moved into a house in Best, near Eindhoven, together with his parents. His father and mother are supposed to stay there.

Adil Ramzi, the new trainer of Jong PSV, had Savio under his wing for two days this week. Together with Jarrad Branthwaite, the Englishman, who also made his debut in Dutch league football and also left a good impression. “You could immediately see the quality in the training. They are two players that PSV will enjoy immensely. Savio has to become even stronger physically, but that can go very quickly,” said Ramzi about the duo that will probably join the selection for the PSV 1 overture against Emmen on Saturday.
